About us
Care, designed for South Africa
Responsible Play Helpline is a service of Therapy on the Go (Pty) Ltd (Reg 2022/668078/07), a South African counselling practice. We exist because gambling-related harm is woven through everyday South African life — and the people living closest to it deserve a calm, qualified voice, free of charge.
Our counsellors are trained in motivational interviewing, brief intervention and trauma-aware practice. We do not moralise about gambling and we do not sell anyone a solution. Our job is to listen well, screen carefully, and walk alongside callers to whatever the right next step is.
We work in partnership with operators who genuinely want to do more than display a phone number on a wall, and we share aggregate, de-identified learnings back into the sector so the standard of care keeps rising.
